Manipulation Under Anesthesia for Lower Back
Low back pain is one of the leading causes of debilitation for the general public, and specifically in the work environment. Many types of treatment have been offered to the general public as a “cure” for low back, with little successful results. Happily in recent years, the MUA procedures have been one of the most successful types of procedures offered as an alternative to prolonged conservative care with minimal relief, or potential surgery. If you ( as a patient of back pain) are able to be gently taken through painful ranges of motion when you are asleep, and the joints, joint capsules, and holding musculature is gently stretched into normal motion, the chances of recovery is so much greater than if you were to try this same type of movement when you are awake and in spasm from pain emanating from abnormal movement.
